Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith
"Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith" by Jon Krakauer explores the dark side of religious extremism by intertwining the story of the 1984 murder of Brenda Lafferty and her daughter by two fundamentalist Mormons with a broader examination of the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and the violent past and troubling aspects of fringe offshoots of Mormonism.
